I made my first corset 6 years ago from a kit and from this was born a passion for corset making and all the creative scope involved in creating each one. This led to a fascination with the mechanics of corsetry and the intricacies of fashion design.
This site is designed to pass on the most practical parts of corset building knowledge built up through years of making and research, in order that others can easily discover the passion and deep well of creativity that can be found through the art of corsetry.
Corsets can be made of virtually any material you like as long as you stick to certain rules when considering the fabric. This allows your imagination to run riot amidst a plethora of colour, texture and style - there really are no limits! You can make your corset as flirty, arty, complicated, plain or simply elegant as you wish. Each one is beautiful and no corset you make for yourself will ever be the same because with each one, as you build your skills, so comes a thousand different ideas for the next, and the next and so on...
The practical uses of a corset are also many and varied. A well fitted corset is extremely comfortable and supportive - apart from giving you some uber curves by default, it's a bit like having an extra skeleton on the outside! For instance, if you have a job which means being on your feet all day, a corset will support your body making you less tired by the end of the day - I know, I've tried it!
This is therefore a one stop shop for beginners, and a convenience stop for the more experienced.
